Are we there yet?

I witnessed the miracle -- certain group of people are growing in the reverse order of time.

Specifically speaking, the longer these people are obsessed with this man, the younger they "grow". The man is identified as Mr. Bae Yong Joon and this group of people is referred to as BYJ fans.

It is observed that the ultimate age they eventually "grow" into is around 5 to 7 years old. (I personally think this age group offers the most lovable children). These kids are passionate for their toys, especially that Joon Bear they hold on at all times. Their hearts are unceasingly filled with joy. Their eyes glare the light of wonder. Their faces shine the purist smiles. Their spirits are lifted up whenever they caught sight of the man they love. They tiredlessly watch the Bae videos over and over again. They are fond of arts and crafts featuring their prince. They are proficient in reading and writing about him. They get excited at every tiny news of the man. Whenever BYJ announced his new project, they bear the most anxiety and the least patience. As soon as these childlike fans get on the journey with our driver BYJ, they start asking the most famous questions to anyone they can get hold of --- "Are we there yet? Are we there yet?". All right, all right, another form of this type of innocent questions would be "Where is he?" "When is he going to start?" "Are we there yet? Are we there yet?" :-D I have asked and been asked this type of questions for so many times! Hopefully this translation I've done for Saphire's essay can entertain these questions a tiny bit -- He is everywhere, as much as your mind goes.

Title : Another type of reading notes : Ever Appearing Mr. Yong Joon
Author Saphiree (蓝宝石别墅)

Original in Chinese posted earlier.

Mr. Yong Joon has not been showing up for quite a long period of time. For a die-hard incorrigible, impenitent Bae fan, it is not worthy the concern whether Mr. Yong Joon shows up or not. Ever since the world found Yong Joon, there appeared the Bae fans. Yong Joon is rarely seen, but Bae fans are always around. We may not go to seek him in person, but we can not miss visiting his web sites and forums; even if we don't visit his web sites and forums, we can not stop thinking about him. In time, in memory, in spirit, in life, Mr. Yong Joon never needs to be reminded, never can be forgotten.

In times of walking, think a bit about Mr. Yong Joon;
In times of dining, think a bit about Mr. Yong Joon;
In times of reading, think a bit about Mr. Yong Joon;
In times of writing, think a bit about Mr. Yong Joon;

Let Mr. Yong Joon merge into my life, let the spirit of loving Yong Joon carry through the book I am reading, then a Bae fan will read between the lines and words, and found that the two words "Yong Joon" are indeed written all over the book.

The following few encounters are recorded:

1. Once there was a Bae fan, occasionally posted things about Yong Joon on a place called Baidu; then there was another Bae fan, occasionally passing by, saw the posting and replied -- It was said that, this was the origin of the Baidu BYJ Forum.

2. To become a superior Bae fan, time and patience is a must. Generally speaking, the standard smelting time has not been determined, it all depends on each individual. In this process, watch a DVD, read a posting, glimpse at some articles, peek at some pictures, wait for some chattings with your fellow fans -- the affections towards Yong Joon started to breed, but no need to mention to the outsiders. As for the feelings of nourishment, sastisfaction, happiness when loving Bae to the marrow, all are written on the face, no need to speak of it. A pure Bae fan seldom going out of country, therefore, while facing Bae at home, the tender feelings just overflow from the eyes like tiding waves.

3. When climbing up became past glory, descending down turned into laughingstock, thank goodness there is still taboo for star chasing at the old age, so that we can occasionally taste the pleasure of breaking the taboo, to show off our wild at heart. It's not nice to chase the good star alone, the best thing to do is to lure a happy beauty into the Baidu BYJ Forum, spread out the photos of our handsome prince, then make a gesture of being infactuated, until the moment she is obsessed to the extreme and lost her beauty and countenance, then proudly announce, "Ahya, that's it for today!", then both of us were struck.

4. In this world, there is no vulgar act of fan,dom but only vulgar fans. There is lowly person, but no lowly love. Freud wrote: "If you want to love, you can not be separated from this world, otherwise, I can not think of a better place to be." If we miniaturize the love into a love to an icon, concretize the icon into Bae Yong Joon, then if you want to love, you can not part yourself from this man. Otherwise, in the same manner, I can not think of a better person to love.

This was a lonesome night, when a Bae fan reading a book entitled "The Principle of Food" by Shen Hongfei. The above inspirations of Yong Joon appearances, can be found on page 22, 39, 74 and 212. If you are willing, you can find more of him in the same book. If you are more willing, you can find even more and more: in another book, in another place. If you are truly willing, Mr. Yong Joon will be found everywhere.

Now let me quote a paragragh of Mr. Shen Hongfei's original writing. Haha, it is original, no transmutation. Is he talking about ice cream? How come I still think he is talking about Mr. Yong Joon?

"On those distant mountain range, the sweet and pure frost started to melt, they are about to merge into a stream, carry us back home safely. Let's say, memory, just as described by Zhang Ailing, who is addicted to sweetness and softness - if memory can carry smells, it should be -- sweet and steady, like the vivid memory of happiness; sweet and sad, like the forgotten melancholy. "

Appendix : The original paragraghs quoted and transmutated by this article are as following:

1. Once there was a duck occasionally laid eggs in a pool with limewater. Then there was a farmer occasionally passing by, saw the duck egg, picked up and ate it -- It was said that, this was the origin of the preserved egg.

2. To cook a superior soup, time and patience is a must. Generally speaking, the standard boiling time is about the length of 2 official soccer games (best including the intermission time). In this process, listen to the boiling water, watch the stove fire, glimpse at the clock, wait for soup eater to knock at the door -- the affections towards soup started to breed, but no need to mention to the outsiders. As for that feelings of nourishing, sastisfaction, happiness when eating the soup, all showing on face, no need to speak of it. A pure way of eating soup seldom need spoon, therefore, while swallowing the soup with bowl covering the face, the tender feelings just overflow from the eyes like tiding waves.

3. When climbing up became past glory, descending down turned into laughingstock, thank goodness there is still taboo for eating meat as huge chunks, so that we can occasionally taste the pleasure of breaking the taboo, to show off our wild at heart. It's not nice to eat the good meat alone, the best thing to do is to lure a beauty who is on diet into the balcony upstairs, hold out the meat up to the eyebrow, then make a gesture of putting it into mouth, until the moment she is tempted to the extreme and lost her manner and countenance, then proudly announce, "Ahya, that's it for today!", then swallow it with one bite.

4. In this world, there is no vulgar act of eating, but only vulgar eaters. There is lowly man and woman, but no lowly love. Freud wrote: "If you want to love, you can not be separated from this world, otherwise, I can not think of a better place to be." If we miniaturize the love into a love between a man and a woman, concretize the world into our home, then if you want to love, you can not part yourself from this dining table. Otherwise, in the same manner, I can not think of a better place to love.

Hello Heippieh, You go Girl!

Dear bb, don't want to disappoint you, this was another even more painful process. I don't know if I am going to do this too often. I don't feel good enough for what I did, limited vocabulary and boring expressions, I am sorry I couldn't do it as natual and interesting as you gals did. Ashamed, beaten ... I just comfort myself that if I enjoy the process, it's worth it.

Thanks for coming to read it, if you don't agree with certain translations, please let me know. Reading you and other bae bloggers really making me happy and helping me learn more English.

Dear 泡菜煲, trust me I am not blaming you, I appreciated you praising, but now I feel even more ashamed. Neither of my Chinese nor Chinese is good enough. I feel ashamed that I was bold to attempt translating these high standard writings, feel sorry for these authors, I wish I could do a better job but I wasn't able to. I was thinking the worst thing is my translation are poluting reader's eyes, but they reach me to beat me, haha... so as long as I enjoy it, it's worth it. HeeHee...

If you have the interest to translate Saphire's articles, please follow your heart. It will be a good learning process after all.

Hi Mrs.A., how did you manage to get that mesmerizing photo of Min-hyong! This is so inspiring. I wonder if I can do it some day.

I know the translation is not that good. But I'll keep trying, will be very slow though. If you gals enjoy it, I feel a bit better now. I am not a first class meal like wuri yong joon ( oh how much i like this name given by bb! ), can only offer you a plain salad not even with sauce, but I'll try my best as what wuri yong joon is doing.
